Vulcan Portable Power System — FAQS

1. How is the Vulcan different from other portable battery systems?

Vulcan is a plug-and-play, industrial-grade power system built in the U.S. It offers:

  • Higher efficiency and safer battery tech
  • Easy scalability up to 100 kWh
  • Fast, consistent charging
  • Reliable performance from -4°F to 140°F
  • Field-replaceable parts (repairs in under 2 hours)

It’s designed for harsh conditions and works for medical, military, telecom, broadband, mobile, and residential power needs.

2. How fast will my system be delivered?

Most systems ship within 30 days. With 70% North American components, our supply chain is stable — we’ll notify you if timing changes.

3. What is the Vulcan’s surge power?

  • Standard: 4,000W surge
  • Linked pair: 8,000W surge / 4,000W continuous
  • 3 kW model: 6,000W surge
  • Linked pair (3 kW): 12,000W surge / 4,000W continuous

4. What temperatures can the Vulcan run in?

Vulcan operates from -4°F to 122°F and protects itself if temperatures go outside this range.

5. What’s the difference between the Vulcan and the Energy Store?

  • Vulcan: Main unit with AC output + internal battery.
  • Energy Store: Add-on battery module for more storage (up to 100 kWh).

6. How long does charging take?

  • Vulcan: ~2 hours with solar, <4 hours with AC
  • Energy Store: ~3 hours with solar, <9 hours with AC
Charge times stay consistent even as the system scales.

7. Does the Vulcan act as a UPS?

Yes. It switches to battery power in under 10 ms, protecting sensitive equipment from outages and voltage drops.

8. Is it water resistant?

Yes — the unit is IP52 and NEMA rated and can operate under cover in humid or moist environments.

9. Is the Vulcan EMP-protected?

An optional EMP protection package is available that meets MIL-STD-188-125-2.
