The Vulcan Energy System, our first product offering, consists of a portable Inverter-Charger and accompanying portable self-charging energy storage units (Energy Stores). Vulcan was developed as a portable Plug-and-Power alternative to permanent installation storage batteries and gasoline generators. Vulcan’s performance is comparable to these technologies due to its modular design that supports unlimited storage capacity, fast charging time regardless of storage capacity, and automatic AC transfer switching.

The Invertor-Charger outputs 2KW of filtered 120V AC power that it develops from solar panels or grid power. The Energy Store stores energy in safe, high-energy density Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries (LifePo4). The Invertor-Charger can operate standalone utilizing its internal 105Ah battery for 120v AC energy generation or with one or more Energy Stores for unlimited energy storage. The system features a bus architecture that allows for battery increases in 2.6KWH or 3.6KWH increments to fit your pricing, storage, and physical layout needs.

The Vulcan System is for consumers, groups or organizations who want a high performing, price competitive, portable and Plug-and-Power alternative energy product that is simple to install and operate and has the ability to power appliances, lights and other essential equipment either directly or through house wiring for long durations. The product can store energy and operate in line with the grid and/or solar panels and be used as follows:

• Partial home backup solution to automatically generate electricity during power outages and blackouts to critical loads
• Off grid solar energy storage and AC voltage generation solution
• Emergency preparedness as a gasoline generator alternative
• Schedule stored energy source during peak grid demand to reduce utility costs and grid burden



System Design

The Vulcan Energy System was designed and engineered as an automated system capable of storing large amounts of energy and operating within a wide environmental range continuously at its fully rated output power. The units will be offered within a reasonable price point compared to other battery storage units and small gasoline generators. Utilizing industry leading technologies and integration techniques versus designing and fabricating each circuit also allows for quicker go-to-market, lower engineering costs, and a leveraging of faster innovation cycles towards future upgrades, recycling of internal components and a reduction of electronic waste. 

How it Works

The Vulcan Energy System distinguishes itself from competitive products with its technology for storing large amounts of energy, faster charging, and split 120V AC topology for generating and redirecting grid energy. These features are comparable to more expensive storage technologies / products and are far superior to the capabilities of smaller solar generators. Energy Stores are self charging units that can be daisy chained together and connected to Invertor-Charger units. These units form a topology that can be easily connected or disconnected to increase capacity in 2.6KW or 3.6KWh amounts. This allows for days or weeks of stored energy without recharging, depending upon appliance usage.

Each Energy Store has 500W or 1000W solar charger and a 360W or 600W AC charger. Reverse voltage, short circuit, and overload protection are built in to ensure the safest possible operation. Energy flows from grid, generator and solar sources through each segment of the system to the AC loads.
